About Me
My name is Odis Turner III, I’m 21 years old and I’m currently enrolled at Minneapolis Community and Technical College as a part time student, while fulfilling my fourth year of apprenticeship at JUXTAPOSITION ARTS in the Textile lab. My work explores the kinship between the selfishness of conformity to social ideologies, (social tyranny), and selfless servitude within communal freedom. The apparent weakness in double-standards that attempt to compete with the valid strength of unbiased paradoxes are the type of structures that are too frequently overlooked because of the commonality within their alias’; But without full accountability for both identities, and a willingness to understand both in full context (of definition), the blood shed from the lack of equality will continue to be on our hands. With diverse influences like the language of universal design through Unicode, and the artless transparency of Jean-Michel Basquiat, My designs are controversially urban in aesthetic, abstractly simple in composition, and thought provoking in expression; Using mixed media such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Xerox, etc My goals and reason for creating are: To prompt the individual to think selflessly using the free-will that God has given them. To express myself, my thoughts, and my heart in a productive manner despite the poor communication tool that visuals can be because of individual interpretations. To spread the good news of salvation from the Most High, JEHOVAH through His son Christ Jesus.
